"- - - - - - - - - -." Apologies my heart is elsewhere today. Music a little louder in the apartment, for sustenance as always, but also for anger, for anxiety, for abstract answers. TV off as much as possible. Mind racing. Trying to muster some righteous anger about the ACADEMY AWARDS kicking composers to the curb at this year's ceremony (along with film editors and production designers and a few other Hollywood crafts, seriously WTF, read STANLEY KUBRICK's thoughts on editing), surely the most, let's say, curious decision any awards show has made in the past few years. The original song nominees should boycott the ceremony in honor of their harder-working peers NICHOLAS BRITELL, GERMAINE FRANCO, JONNY GREENWOOD, ALBERTO IGLESIAS and HANS ZIMMER and take their sync rights with them: No ENCANTO songs in the telecast, no BILLIE & FINNEAS songs, no music at all. That's what I think, if anyone's looking for suggestions. Not that I care all that much. The Motion Picture Academy doesn't; why should I? But also, the world. HITPIECE, the startup that tried to create an NFT of every song in the world, whatever that possibly could have meant, without asking anyone for permission, is pretending it deserves a second chance and approaching artists about legit partnerships, which, LOL, thanks I needed a laugh today, even if if it didn't last long. The world, the world, the world. "You may get used to it but you never get over it." LIVE NATION had a nice Q4, Omicron and Delta and other current events notwithstanding. "I'm singing the spring song to you."
