QUOTABLES!
quote of the day
Innocence in genius, and candor in power, are both noble qualities.

Much of the beginning of REDEF as a company was at our WEWORK office in NYC. I really enjoyed the place. I take no pleasure in watching the non-tech, rent arbitrage company get kicked in the nuts these last few weeks. I liked the service and the employees worked hard to make it a pleasurable environment. Some anecdotes from my "stay." I liked the common areas. And the "phone booth" desks. Those desks made me feel swaddled with a laptop. Though the youngins would camp out all day and leave their stuff there. These are the same "booth-hogging" offenders at SOHO HOUSE worldwide. I used to subscribe to BIRCHBOX for men. I really like the founders. I never used the beard oil I would get in the box so I would leave them in the common area of our WeWork. The Millenials scarfed those up faster than coders ransacking the leftover catered food for executive meetings at MICROSOFT in the Aughts. Also, with WeWork founder ADAM NEUMANN possibly getting his head handed to him this week, I think about all the f***ing "genius" profiles I've read. In a tweet, the opinionator CHAMATH PALIHAPITIYA pointed out their celebrity defense. Maybe Neuman is a genius, maybe he isn't. But in the WeWork we were in, there were about 200 people on each floor. And two urinals and two toilets for men. The lines to take a piss were longer than JAWS on opening day. You'd think they were selling CRONUTS. That's genius? And he apparently gets stoned. Maybe not $47 Billion IPO-like behavior but you wouldn't see many of "tech" companies you love if the founders hadn't been stoned to begin with... So this DANIEL HERNANDEZ, aka, TEKASHI 69, aka 6IX9INE, (the tattoo-faced rapper) thing is fascinating to me. He's facing racketeering, drug trafficking, and other fun charges. He's turning on fellow rappers and fingering them as gang members. Is this some plea deal? My assumption is he goes into witness protection. My question is how does a social media star with tattoos all over his face go into witness protection?... Like any industry, the news media has journalists that are great, ok, and bad. A defining factor of our great democracy is the FOURTH ESTATE. I'm a big believer. PRESIDENT KENNEDY explained the ultimate benefit even in the face of criticism and scrutiny. Some of the most recent, important issues and malfeasance of our time have been uncovered not by government or authorities, but by those great journalists. Those that repeat the claims of fake news, support those that are doing the lying about fake news. Those that perpetuate the fraud that media is our enemy are actually the enemy of the people. There is a malignant tumor in our country. This weekend, we watched administration officials defending an immoral, unethical, soulless leader. And thus, selling their souls. Talk shows featuring these despicable sycophants. Later, if there is justice, they'll say they were just following orders. Sound familiar?... Belated Happy Birthday to JANE ROSENTHAL, VINCENT BROADY, MICHAEL DAVIS, RICHARD GLOSSER, DAN BURRELL, STEVE STANFORD, ELLIE WHEELER, NOAH WINTROUB, DAVID GOODRICH, JUSTIN ROSENBLATT, DANIEL PAUL, and PAUL BORGESE.
