Depeche Mode, New Order, More “Cover” John Cage’s 4’33” for New Box Set

MUTE has announced a new box set collecting over 50 artists’ interpretations of John Cage’s 4’33”—yes, the experimental composer’s four-and-a-half-minute composition that instructs the performers not to play their instruments. The collection, titled STUMM433, is out in May 2019. It features Depeche Mode, New Order, Goldfrapp, K Á R Y Y N, Wire, the Afghan Whigs, Ben Frost, Lee Ranaldo, Moby, and more. Each artist’s piece will arrive with a visual.
