From the Montreal producer’s upcoming album, Come to Canada You Will Like It

A colleague of mine at Pitchfork aptly described “Fine Match,” Project Pablo’s new song, as a “bath bomb” of a track. Indeed, the Montreal-based producer specialized in making fizzy house music treats, and this one, the lead single from his upcoming album Come to Canada You Will Like It, feels more powerfully relaxing than ever. Project Pablo’s most potent element here is his array of keys: At one moment, they’ll sway as slowly as a hammock caught in a gentle breeze, but then they’ll just as quickly bubble up into a froth of bright chords. It’s the sort of bubbly, beachside melody that would make Jimmy Buffett jealous. Cushioning all this sunniness are balmy acoustic hand drums and pleasant little bells. All together, “Fine Match” brings good vibes almost instantly, and like a bath bomb, the second it makes contact with your ears, expect a big reaction.
