Brooklyn Pizza King Paulie Gee’s Brings NY Pies to Miami

Popular New York City pizzeria Paulie Gee’s finally made its Miami debut over the weekend, as part of the Brooklyn brand’s massive multi-city expansion.

Helmed by Jason Weisberg, who Paulie Gee's founder Paulie Giannone described to Eater Miami last year as a fellow "pizza enthusiast," worked in the Brooklyn Paulie Gee’s location for about a year before opening the location in Miami.

Pizza is the name of the game at Paulie Gee’s, who’s Miami location serves many of the pies that made the NYC outpost famous, including the Hellboy topped with soppressata and Mike’s Hot Honey.

But the restaurant also embraced its new 305 home as well creating a special Jewbano pizza topped with swiss cheese, yellow mustard, Canadian bacon, pulled pork, and kosher dill pickles, that can only be found on the Miami menu.

Vegans should also take note, with four pies that are entirely vegan friendly topped with items like house-made vegan sausage, cashew ricotta dollops and even vegan tomato sauce. A variety of salads, soups and dessert pies can also be found on the menu.

Paulie Gee’s Miami takes over the former China Palace space at 8001 Biscayne Boulevard. The space has been updated with modern furniture, but touches of the China Palace can still be found throughout, including the restaurant’s original sign and plastic Asian-inspired plates. But just like its Brooklyn counterpart, the signature Stefano Ferrara wood-fired oven, complete with a sun logo, has made its way down to the Magic City.

An old school pinball machine can be found in the restaurant’s bar area, which plans to begin serving a rotating list of craft beer and wine in the upcoming weeks.

The restaurant is open for dinner only (no take out or delivery is available) Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m.
